A retraction needs to be made concerning the last post posted several months ago. We are not dead as was previously believed. Since then we have played two shows and have planned to record soon. When "soon" is i don't know but that is the party line concerning the topic.

Since then two new projects with Makua peoples have begun. HERBIVOROUS MEN (w/Mikko, and Corby) a noisy hardcore band in the vein of Black Flag's long hair years, Flipper and the like. Unsettling and out of control. There is also TEMPLE FUGATE (w/Jacoby, & Todd). A band that is a complete 180 from Makua. i guess, i would say it's in the vein of all things mid- western especially the greater Chicago area, so that would mean everything from Cap'n Jazz & Braid to Don Caballero. Did i mention that it was an instrumental band too?

This is what is going on right now concerning those involved in MVBT (as well as Jacoby's continued involvment w/SIBLINGS).

Status Report 005/2011

After much wondering we finally found out what time we are playing day 3 of No Suck Fest (which in a way is actually day two since "day one" is a pre- party, but whatever, i'm over analyzing.). I am assuming that we are opening the show since it all starts at 2pm july 23rd and we go on at 2:35pm. Our last show in whenever it was at Anna's was our last show/practice. The 23rd should be interesting to see if there is any rust or i fuck up big time w/the lyrics which i usually do. Jacoby's other band SIBLINGS will be playing that day as well, in the daytime just like us. The show is at the Loft in chinatown. No one is reading this.

Filling in the Spaces

News from the front: Members are taking shapes in other projects. Corby and Jacoby are both in a three piece doom/stoner band going by the handle OVEN, perhaps the only non- intoxicant taking caffeinated stoner band ever. I'd like to thing so. Jacoby is also spending time in SIBLINGS, the soon to be darlings of the Hawaii Punk Scene. Remain vigil.

Status Report 004/2011

So.... MVBT played a show this past friday at Anna- whatever- it's- called. I say whatever- it's- called cos' the place is under new or recently new owners who happened to change the name or maybe they didn't. So whatever, i'll call it Anna's. Coincedentally it was also our first show at Anna's. It was also the fourth time (ever!) that we got to play our entire set which included a new improv outro that totally fucking failed at the Asterisk show. Few things gleaned from this past friday's show.

  1. I can't look at people while screaming, much like in everyday life i tend to avert the eyes.

  2. SUNN AMPS = AWESOME TONE = DUH!

  3. It feels weird that a handful of people kept a close distance while watching us perform. Perform? Play. We are now welcomed with curiosity rather than the usual disdain we are met with.

  4. During False Crack's set i was torn between taking pictures and singing along to their cover of "I Don't Wanna Hear It". I chose singing along.

  5. etc....

Anyway... practices, maybe some shows sometime in the near future.

Status Report 003/2011

This should have been mentioned in a previous post. Jacoby (all things electronic/vox) has set up a Bandcamp page for Makua. It can be found here . It should be mentioned that this is one of the very few places left to get the demo since all of them have gone out for trade/distro. This is also the only way to hear Makua in it's original two dudes and a drummachine form.

In Brilliant Colours

Old design, first design actually, revamped for these modern times.
